Solventless lamination

> Solventless lamination

Solventless lamination has been long established as the standard in the manufacture of food packaging.

High performance, transparency of the adhesive layer can be achieved by using only this technology.
The use of this lamination technology makes it possible to achieve equal application to the film, which is very important when using aluminum foil.

Solventless lamination is ecologically cleaner than solvent, since it lacks solvents.

The solvent-free glue application unit is a system of rolls, between which the glue is poured and its initial dosage takes place.
The rolls are heated cylinders that maintain the required glue temperature.
At the site of lamination there is a “meeting” of two canvases and their gluing. Before the lamination unit or after it (depending on the production technology of the laminate) a cooling cylinder can be installed.
After lamination, the glued material is rewound to the winder.
A separate node is the mixing station of a solvent-free two-component adhesive where both components — resin and hardener — are heated to a certain temperature and are fed through separate heated hoses to the mixing head, from which the ready-to-use glue enters the glue application unit.
